Frequently Asked Questions

Please Contact me if you have another question or two!

The first step in working with Kind and Tidy is to schedule a free 30 min consultation with Julie.  We will use the time to discuss your goals and priorities and learn more about each other to find out how we might work together

Most of us would benefit from the headspace, efficiency and calm that a less cluttered and tidier environment provides.  Often, we get used to the clutter and chaos around us and don’t realise how much it takes from us in terms of time, energy, money and positivity.  Engaging a Personal Organiser is an investment in your own well-being.  It can save you time, reduce the stress of the mess and let you live the life you wish for.

My role is to find solutions; I am not there to judge. I have worked in many different homes with a diverse range of people.  Some would describe themselves as chronically disorganised.  I am there to help and support you to achieve what you want. If you are not ready to have me in your home, how about starting with some gentle online sessions?

I work mostly within a 30k radius of my home in the Forest of Dean.  I cover Gloucester, Cheltenham, anywhere in the Forest, Monmouth and Abergavenny and up to Hereford.  Sometimes I go further afield so please just ask.

Yes.  From a shelf to a hallway, to whole rooms, garages, workshops and houses.

If you wish to start small with a wardrobe, or have something more ambitious, I can help.

It will depend on what you want to achieve. It is important that the pace suits you. You may need a session or two to get started and then once your decluttering confidence kicks in you will be happy to continue by yourself.   Some clients book me regularly to ensure they stay on top of things.

Absolutely not!  It’s your stuff, so you will make all the decisions about what goes and what stays.  I will ask you questions that will give you confidence to decide, but you are always in control.

I will take a car-load of items to a charity or clothes bank for you after each visit.  I can advise on ways to re-home or sell your unwanted things.  I do not have a licence to remove waste or rubbish.

I am not a cleaner but I will clean areas as we clear so you can re-use them straight away.  Often people engage a Personal Organiser as the stage before they engage a regular cleaner – it makes sense.

Yes  - if there is de-cluttering to be done as you need to make the decisions.  During the organising stage, it is handy to have you nearby for occasional decisions but most of that I can handle by myself.

In most cases, Yes.  I am trained to support people with hoarding tendencies.  This is a skilled area of work so it is important to have an initial chat with me to make sure I am the right person to help you.  If I am not the right person, I may be able to suggest other options.

No. De-cluttering should come before storage solutions.  It is a good idea to utilise what you already have before you consider buying new storage.  Often storage ‘solutions’ are not the solution.

If your parents are happy to work with me, I can provide help to downsize.  It must be their decision.

I can advise and help ensure that objects that leave your home are recycled, re-homed, or sold responsibly and not simply designated to landfill.
